The Columbus Blue Jackets acquired veteran defenceman Jordan Leopold from the St. Louis Blues for a fifth round pick in 2016 on Saturday. According to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun, the Blues will retain $500, 000 of Leopolds $2.25 million salary. The 34-year-old will become a free agent at seasons end. General manager Doug Armstrong says the deal clears $1.1 million in cap space for the central division-leading Blues.
